Department of English exemplifies a vision of evolving into a centre of learning excellence. It has a noble intent of reaching out to diverse students across the globe. The Department is committed to inculcate and sustain higher standards in quality teaching, catering to challenges of the society.
Department also aims at empowering the young girls from different backgrounds to have language competence. It hones them with excellent communication skills in order to meet the evolving requirements of knowledge era and to keep pace with knowledge explosion in higher education. The Department strives to maintain high standard of quality in teaching, making its students become globally competent without losing the vision of our foundress.

PROGRAMME AND ACTIVITIES:
Student Seminars, Workshops, Guest Lectures, Field Visit To The Libraries, Student Participation in Drama, Compeering and Entrepreneurial Development Program are conducted.

INNOVATIVE METHODS OF TEACHING :
Apart from blackboard and lecture method of teaching we engage in innovative teaching practices like Class Seminars PPT based classes, introducing to E-Patshalas, Role play, Drama Enactment, Teaching Internships for PG students.
GOOD RECORD OF PERFORMANCE OF OUR STUDENTS:
Yes good performance is recorded by our students.
Few students have scored centum in communicative English papers.
Every year students are getting University Ranks because of Communicative English

I have completed my MA English from St' Anne's Degree College for Women, Halasuru. I am one among the rank holder's of my batch for my post-graduation degree for the Bengaluru City University. I have presented and published papers in National and International level conferences and Journal respectively. My area of interest is World Literature, Diasporic Literature and Linguistics, Currently I'm pursuing my Ph.D from REVA University, Bengaluru. My research topic is: Displacement and Disintegration in Sri Lanka. | |
