Knowledge of Kannada literature is essential in the present scenario. The value system can be strengthened through the literary works of great scholars. So, the department focuses on providing literature knowledge as well as the value system. The olden day’s literature enriches through people and the students come to know the life style of those people, societies and the family systems through various sessions. Department of Kannada always tries to enrich the quality of life through language learning. Department is organizing many activities to motivate students to learn things beyond the text books. The Department Of Kannada exists from the very beginning of the college 2005.
The Two year Language under graduate course is open to students from Science, Arts and Commerce and management. It is for students who aspire to build a carrier path in their future. To create awareness about Language and Heritage.
Department organizes “Kannada Bhasha Utsava” to exhibit the literary and cultural talents of Kannada students like Essay, Speech, Pick and Speak, Folk Dance, Folk song, Quiz, Collages, Poem writing.
Guest lectures from great scholars motivate the students to get more focus on language learning.
Department of Kannada also organizes National Level Seminar every year on language and cultural related topics. Well known writers, speakers visit the College to address the students.
Every year Kannada students will have a chance to attend theatre workshop and a play to practice. Students also perform in various Intercollegiate competitions.

A highly experienced and dedicated senior faculty member of Kannada department with two decades(20yrs) of teaching experience at the under graduation level. She completed her post-graduation and masters in Philosophy (M.Phil) from Mangalore and Hampi University respectively. She is currently pursuing her Ph.D from Mangalore University in the area of ‘Spiritualism in Dalit Literature’ and plans to submit the thesis by the end of Sept, 2020. She has served in various colleges in different capacities as Principal, Vice-principal, HOD, she is also Guest faculty for B.Sc College of Nursing at Command Hospital,Custodian, Deputy-superintendent, BU,BCU semester exam Paper Valuation and question paper setter of BU exams. She has the completion of many certificate courses to her credit.’Six Sigma’(Green Belt), `Mahabharath’ from Bharatha Samskrithi Prasara Yojanaa and Pupil –Individual Development and Leadership programme from Moodbidri Tribhuvan Junior Chamber JCI India ,Typing, Drawing Exam are of them to be mentioned. |
