The Department of Humanities is the heart and soul of intellectual, aesthetic, creative and humanitarian discourses of St. Anne’s Degree College for women. It is an invigorating space enlivened by a diverse and vibrant student community, eager to carve out their own niche. We firmly believe in developing interpersonal communication between teachers and students as well as creating an environment that will synergistically link scientific developments and thoughts to enhance the socio-economic, linguistic, managerial and humanistic development of the country. The Department has an inter-disciplinary approach to teaching-learning methods that cater to students from multicultural background.
The department was established in the year 2007. It offers Triple major course specializing in the subjects like Psychology, Journalism, and Communicative English at under graduate level of B.A. and currently offering postgraduates programs in English Literature and Psychology.
It was B. F. Skinner, one of the most famous American psychologists, who said, “Education is not just the filling of a pail, it is the lighting of a fire.” As a department, it has been our goal to not just impart the intricacies of the subject to students, but also to create a passion for life and a compassion for others in them.
